One Month Today!

Today, Annabeth had her one-month check up. I can't believe how fast time flies. She was so good at the doctor's office and didn't cry at all while they poked and prodded her. She gained almost 2 pounds, which makes me feel a lot better since I always worry that she's not getting enough to eat. The doctor said that she's just perfect all over. Everything is right on track. For those who may not know, we've scheduled her blessing for June 14th which just happens to be Father's Day. I think it will be a special day for both baby and her Daddy. It is so sweet to watch him cuddle with her. I think I am no longer number one in his book. In fact, almost everyone I know only wants to be around me more so they can hold the baby. That's ok because she really is the cutest baby in the world. I love her little hands and little feet and her new baby smell. I love the little noises she makes. I love her little smiles (even though they tell me that they are from gas). She hates to be woken up and lets you know it. I can tell that she is already forming a little personality-stubborn like her mommy!

The Hair

Ok, so i finally figured out what her hair reminds me of. Anyone see a resemblance?

2 weeks old

Ok, so I have been meaning to update but can only do it when the baby is sleeping. Here are a few new pics of Annabeth.

We had to take a bath the other day when she had a major blowout and got it all in her hair. She likes it when we pour the warm water on her, but cries the rest of the time.

Sleepyheads in the morning.

She really does look like an Indian baby.

Every day, it seems as if she is awake more and more. I am trying to find things that hold her attention for a little while. So far, she seems to like her music Einstein toy. Must be because of all that music she heard in the womb.

New Mommy Chronicles

Yesterday, Annabeth turned exactly one week old! I can't believe how fast time flies. I don't want for her to get any bigger because she is just so darn cute. This week, I was lucky enough to have mom stay with me for three days. Then Shelley and Erin came to visit. It was so nice to have the extra help, and I have to say that I am really missing it now. As a new mom, I am discovering things that no one told me while I was pregnant. Like the new and exciting world of hemmorhoids, the joys of leaking milk at all hours of the day, and the frequent fits of crying for absolutely no reason at all (not the baby, but me). I guess if people had told me all those things, I may not have gone through with it. But looking into the eyes of our sweet little baby girl makes it all worth it (I can't believe I'm crying again!) Thanks to everyone for all your help, love and support. We appreciate all you are doing for our new little family.

Happy Birthday, Annabeth!

Wow, what a weekend this has been! We just got home from the hospital a couple of hours ago and I am still trying to catch up with everything that's happened. I guess I should just start from the beginning. Thursday afternoon, when I went in for my weekly check-up, I was surprised to learn that I was dialated to a 3 and 90 percent effaced. The doctor told me I should get my things ready and come in at midnight to start antibiotics. I told her I had one more day left at work and that I wasn't ready to go into labor, but she didn't think the baby would wait for me. I left the doctor's office in a panic because our house was a complete mess and I felt totally unprepared. After some frantic cleaning and hurried packing, Brent and I headed to the hospital. When we got there at 11:30, Brent suddenly remembered that we shouldn't check in until it was exactly midnight, as he did not want to pay for another day in the hospital. (I'm so glad that my husband is so financially concsiencious-even in a stressful situation such as this.......sigh) Feeling a little angry with him and anxious to get admitted, I waited in the waiting room for about 30 minutes and took a few last minute pics. This is the last picture that I took of my pregnant belly! It's weird but I actually kind of miss having it.
In the morning, they began inducing me at 6:00 and by 10:00, it was time to start pushing. I can't believe how fast it all happened. I got my epidural so quickly that I really didn't have to suffer for very long. To be honest, I was actually more worried about Brent than me. I thought he was going to pass out when he saw the needle. Luckily, mom was there to make sure he didn't pass out. Here are a few pics from the delivery room.

Baby Annabeth makes her debut to the world on May 2nd at 10:13.

Everyone else got to look at her first. How dare they take her away from me! I made her!

Our first picture together as a new family.

Me, mom, and baby. She was a great coach! (for both of us)

Gettin' cozy with her Big Daddy. Be nice to him, Annabeth, if you know what's good for you. He's the one with all the cash. We're broke.

Getting burped by mommy.Daddy's little girl. She already has him wrapped around her finger.

I love this picture! Isn't she cute? We are in love and can't wait for everyone else to meet her. Good luck prying her from grandma's arms!
